I was born and raised in Del Mar, California, the son of two school teachers. I graduated with honors from Brown University and have spent more than twenty years as an entrepreneur and angel investor. That experience taught me to look for people who think independently in the face of consensus, question first principles, and have the grit to see a difficult vision through.

As Chief Product Officer at Tinder, I built the most successful consumer product of a generation. Since then, my focus has shifted toward hard technology and the physical world. The question that interests me most is how we turn scientific possibility into industrial reality. A breakthrough only matters when it leaves the lab, reaches scale, and changes how people live.

The science fiction I grew up with promised abundant energy, autonomous machines, extraordinary new forms of industry, and exploration beyond Earth. Delivering on that promise requires vision, patient capital, technical ambition, and the ability to manufacture at scale. Progress is not inevitable. It is a choice we make through what we fund, what we invent, and what we are willing to build.
